For years the United States government has held many large debates over which way of government is the best for the country. All of these debates have only strengthened our government over the years none have had a negative effect on the nation because in the end of all of them our systems are improved. Some of these debates still go on today, in a never ending process of solutions. One of these many debates of history one stands out above the rest and if it had gone differently our nation would be completely different. This debate was the debate of nationalism versus sectionalism. Nationalism is a better form of government than sectionalism because of its views on how the nation should be bonded. Nationalism believes that group decisions and small debates will make for a better nation. Each state gets one representative regardless of population and therefore each state gets the same say in what goes down in the nation. In each vote on any issue, the majority wins therefore making more states happy rather than less. No one state is shut out due to a different opinion that state still gets to voice its opinion on the topic and is able to work out the differences with the other states.
