Colors are the most overlooked element of symbolism In a short story. By identifying colors in the story it offers a better understanding and reveals a deeper layer often untouched. Mrs. H.T. Miller the frail 61 year old widow who is filled with death and despair is incredibly crazy or just flat out weird because of her newfound companion Miriam. Mrs. H.T.
