“Crysta!” I jump at the sound of my own name, so absorbed by the words. I drop the book, rushing over to the hole and looking up. Green and yellow lights shine on the outside of the hole. “Felix! Thorn! I’m down here!” I exclaimed. The lights stop moving and Felix and Thorn peers over the edge down at me. Felix sighs with relief, but his sister just looks annoyed. “See, I told you she would be fine,” she sneers. “She saved my life, Thorn,” Felix growls back as if continuing a conversion from before. “Whatever,” she grumbles, crossing her arms. I climb onto the boxes and when I reach the top, I can barely touch the top. It’s a lot higher than I thought. “Can I have some help?” I ask, stretching out my arms. I was worried,” Felix answers. “I wasn’t,” Thorn remarks. “I was out for that long?” I question, mostly to myself. “Yeah, you’re lucky. That fall should have killed you with that dog on top,” Thorn states, standing around me. She catches a whiff of the blood and gasps, covering her mouth. “Oh, you stink! What the hell are you covered in?” “Blood,” I confess, “not mine. The dog’s.” They both look down and then back at me, impressed “You killed it?” Felix asks. I glare. Really? He's going to doubt my abilities? After knowing, I’m wanted dead by the Order. “Yes. It's weight caused the floor to collapse. Maybe you should do it sometime. It’s fun.” Thorn smirks. She walks towards her brother, saying, “I guess she’ll survive longer than the others.” She marches away, back down the subway with glowstick in hand. “I think that was a compliment,” Felix realizes with a hint of disbelief and amusement. “That’s good. It means she wouldn’t kill you.” “Oh, joy,” I exclaim with fake cheerfulness. We slowly begin to follow Thorn and I can feel how sore, my body is from the fall. I am not going to wake up happy tomorrow, but at least I won’t be stuck in that hole. The
