Gun Violence in America In the last ninety days, there has been not one, but multiple reports of gun violence scattered throughout America. If America does not do something about it, then the numbers of violence will continue to increase year by year. While many incidents go unreported, The Mass Shooting Tracker, a crowd-sourced project of the anti-gun folks at the Guns Are Cool Subreddit, lists 204 mass shooting events so far in 2015 , and it's only October (Ingraham 2015). Every day, 297 people in America are shot in murders, assaults, suicides and, suicide attempts, unintentional shootings, and police intervention. With that being said, more people now die by guns than by cars. For decades, the most dangerous piece of machinery was an automobile. But now, it’s a gun. More than 32,000 people per year are killed by guns in the United States — at least (Diamond 2015). Needless to say, gun violence in America is not uncommon. For example, there have been seventeen college shootings so far in 2015, many in different states. Some include the shootings at University of South Carolina, where one person was killed,Wayne Community College where one person person was killed ,Wichita State University, Sacramento City College where one person was killed,Delta State University, where one person was killed,and the most recent, the shooting in Umpqua Community College, Roseburg, Ore.where 13 people were killed dead, and at least 20 were injured (Sanburn 2015). Out of all of the campus shootings this year, Roseburg Oregon was the worst. On October first, 2015 a 26-year-old man opened fire on a community college campus that left 10 people dead and seven wounded and turned this rural stretch of southern Oregon into the latest American locale ravaged by a mass shooting (Perez
