World War Z by Max Brooks World War Z takes place in a post-apocalyptic world during the twenty-first century that has just survived a zombie apocalypse. A man is challenged with the collection of experiences from different people in order to remember and respect the millions who died in this tragedy. It comprises of several different testimonials from people all around the world who describe the spread, reaction, and aftermath of the zombie war. The methods used by different countries and people to deal with the zombies are very controversial but thankfully ended up saving the human race. Everyone and everything has been changed forever because of the apocalypse. In the beginning a boy mysteriously contracts a disease and starts attacking people, the villagers call a doctor who secretly scolds how they are treating the infected, little does he know the full extent of what is about to happen. The disease is disregarded by authorities which allows it to spread too much before anyone has even heard about it. The man is blind and is very old, however he fights off multiple zombies a day. He had a head start and escaped to a small island near Japan. There he mapped out the area in his mind and survived off of plant roots. When zombies came close, the moaning warned him and he would knock off the zombies head in one blow. Not only did he do this blind but he fought off multiple zombies at one time and then buried every single one of them out of respect. One day a bear comes close and does not kill him but warns him of an approaching siberian tiger. The man then kills the tiger and repeats this process until one day he hears another human and gangs up with him to survive the rest of the apocalypse.
