The topic I want to write about is mass incarceration and the prison industrial complex. My research questions are Why does america incarcerate more people than any other country in the world. Why are African Americans the majority of people making up the prison population. How did the prison industry become a rapidly growing business in america. This research deals mainly with african american males in the United States. This is a sociological issue because it deals with how the criminal justice systems tends to focus on and punish african americans the most, and as a result urban black families suffer.
