Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Paine had very similar beliefs. They had little to no Christian beliefs or faiths in their writings. Instead, they wrote about all religious freedoms. Benjamin Franklin also encouraged himself in a lot of subjects or areas that were based on traditional religion or bring a focus to god rather than praising God. Thomas Paine on the other hand, did not like organized religion and he had said “Adam, if ever there was such a man, was created a Deist; but in the meantime let every man follow, as he has a right to do, the religion and the worship he prefers”, showing supports of religious freedom and filter of reason.
