I find it strange that I lift weights to pleasure myself. Throughout the day, I have to go to school, do homework, do chores, and lots of other tiring activities. Yet on my free time, I love to go to the gym and lift weights, which is an activity that is just as strenuous as what I do throughout the day. Going to the gym to lift instead of going home and lying down in bed is an odd thing to do. However, I do think that this shows my personality and what type of person I am. It shows that I enjoy pushing and improving myself.
I was a freshman when I was first introduced to weightlifting. It was an upperclassman that brought me into it. When I first began, I wanted to gain some strength for sports, but over time I came to enjoy lifting weights in itself. Especially seeing the progress of my body and my strength, I felt like I was the biggest guy around. I was walking around with a tank top, when in reality I wasn't that big, but that is one of feeling that got me hooked to lifting.
Whenever I go to lift, I always bring along a friend, as the camaraderie is one of the greatest things about weightlifting.
