Kevin Wayne Durant is a Professional Basketball player who plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder. He was born on September 29, 1988 in Suitland Maryland. Kevin Durant is one of four children in his family. In his childhood Durant had started playing basketball for the PG Jaguars, an ametuer youth team in Prince Geogre County. He led the team to two championships in his time of playing. Durant was 6’2” when he played for the PG Jaguars. Durant wore the number 35 in honor of Charles Craig his AAU Coach and childhood mentor who died at the age of 35 years old. During his high school career he grew seven more inches taller which made him 6’9”. He got offers from many colleges including The North Carolina Tarheels, Connecticut Huskies, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Kentucky Wildcats, Louisville Cardinals, and the Texas Longhorns. He could have chosen to play with his friend Tywon Lawson a point guard at the University of North Carolina. Durant had made his decision to go to play for the University of Texas. In Durants freshman year with longhorns durant had 25.8 points a game which was first in the Big 12 and fourth in the nation. He also averaged 11 rebounds in 35 games. He has scored 20 or more points 30 times and 30 or more points 11 times. Durant was named MVP in the Big 12s tournament. Durant had scored 92 points in the Big 12 tournament. He had lead them to a National Championship against South Carolina but they had lost. The Oscar Robertson and the Adolph F. Rupp award was granted to Kevin Durant. He was the first freshman to be
