I have just finished reading A Mango Shaped Space by Wendy Mass. This book is a great book that teaches a great lesson, I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading fiction books.
The story takes place in a city in Illinois. Mia Winchell, a thirteen year old girl who believes that her dead grandfather's soul lives in her cat, Mango. Mia never forgot the day in third grade when her classmates called her a freak for saying that numbers had colors. It was also the day that she discovered that not everyone see colors in numbers and letters. She kept the secret till the age of thirteen and told her parents because the colors became a distraction from her school work. She was brought to a pediatrician, a psychotherapist, and a neurologist until she was finally told that she has Synesthesia, a condition where the human senses are connected and mixed.
