In the story “Rikki-Tikki-Tavi” by Rudyard Kipling, the arch enemies Rikki-Tikki the mongoose and Nagaina the evil cobra are alike in two ways and opposite in one way. Both of them are caring. Rikki-Tikki is caring because he saved the last of Nagaina’s egg when Rikki found out when Nagaina was about to kill Teddy, so He used the egg to lure her away from Teddy the boy. He always sits on the laps of Teddy and his parents. Nagaina is also caring even if she is evil. She cares for her eggs when she finds out when Rikki destroyed all eggs but one. She also cares about Nag because when he died because he was mourning for Nag after he was dead in two pieces. She wanted revenge for Nag’s death, so she tried to kill Teddy. Both Rikki and Nagaina care for people even if they are enemies.…show more content… Rikki is determined because he wanted to kill Nagaina no matter what happened to him, so he bit her tail and followed her into her hole. No wise mongoose would do that, so everyone thought he died, but he killed Nagaina and the egg and came back alive. He wanted to kill her so bad that he told Darzee to stop singing, so he would tell Rikki where the eggs are. Nagaina is also determined because she wanted revenge on Teddy and his family for killing her husband Nag, so she tried to bite Teddy and his parents. This shows that Nagaina and Rikki-Tikki are related because the both are determined to kill
