Red blood. Red blood on the fangs. Red blood on the mouth. What is the first thing you think of when you see those words? Vampires, of course. Vampires are one of the most popular supernatural creatures to ever exist and have been around for centuries. They have changed from these "monster" like creatures that everyone should be scared of to every person's fantasy. The popularity of vampires amounts to countless books, television shows, and films. Dracula, Twilight, Vampire Diaries, and Buffy The Vampire Slayer are just a few of the many examples of storylines that include vampires in our entertainment industry. Vampires are mythical blood sucking creatures that are categorized in "two main branches of vampiric fiction: the vampire as romantic hero, and the vampire as undead monster," as Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan stated. The society as a whole has now learned to love these supernatural creatures that are skyrocketing throughout the world. The popularity of vampires progresses throughout the generations as long as the vampires are capturing what we want from them and fulfilling our desires. Being mysterious for vampires can be a good and a bad thing, but in this case it is a very good thing because that's what lures us into wanting to see more of them. Furthermore, the vampire's immortality is such an amazing gift to them. Vampires will keep rising up to popularity as long as the world will keep watching them in the entertainment
