Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia is something that is genetic that is developed in the female’s ovaries. It is a normal fetus but over time it can start to function abnormally. With this happening the body will produce an excess amount of androgens. The prenatal sexual differentiation will not follow the females course normally. The outcome of this is that the genitals will be half or all in male appearance. As referred in the book the labia is partly or completely fused and the clitoris is enlarged to the size of a small penis. That is why at birth genetic females half of the are recognized as males because of their appearance. Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome Androgen Insensitivity syndrome is as referred in the book a genetic male that produces normal levels of testosterone because of a genetic condition. Also since the body tissue is insensitive to the testosterone the prenatal differentiation is feminized. This syndrome is called the 5-Alpha Reductase Syndrome. The infants would have a vaginal pouch and a clitoris sized penis. If the parents were uneducated they treated things as everything was normal. They did not have much information on what was going on until puberty hit and a biological change happened which was a penis was developed. Also with this the identity of the person was changed.
