The stories by Edgar Allan Poe have particularly similar stories. He is an american author from of 1809-1849. He is famous for his mystery and the macabre which he wrote mainly in short stories. Many of his work is now also a part of the literature studies. stories two of them were "Tell-Tale Heart" and "The Cask of Amontillado". Both the stories have a similar theme and genre. Each are an example of mystery, macabre, suspense and thriller. Although both the texts share the same theme, they have many differences too. The main difference is the motive of killing the victim. In the Tell-Tale Heart the motive of killing is because of the "hideous pale blue eye" of the old man. Which resembled him of a vulture. The old man was his neighbour whose eye was disturbing him and was very obsessed to get rid of the, though he liked the old man. But in the other story The Cask of Amontillado the motive of the narrator Montresor was revenge. The narrator says that he is furious because he is insulted by his friend Fortunato and this is what drives to commit the murder.…show more content…
He felt even police is been able to hear and they know its him who killed. So he screams and yells confessing about it. Meanwhile the other story ends with different conclusion. Montresor isolates him behind a wall to starve to death in his basement, knowing that nobody will come to know about
