Annotated Bibliographic Outline
I wanted to write about Disney and the influence it has made on children. Though I wanted to specifically focus on the messages Disney has sent throughout the ages through film that have influenced children in relation to gender role. My question in this is “How does Disney affect children’s identity in gender role?” Through this I wish to explore the messages that Disney has related through their princess movies. By looking at how both men and women are portrayed in films I hope to be able to effectively conclude as to how Disney may influence children’s identity. This book is a great opening into gender roles in Disney films. This book talks about both the portrayal of the princess and the wicked witch. By comparing how Disney is portraying the good guy and the bad guy I wanted to confirm how children would be influenced by such view.
