Following, after the hurricane the family’s of the 9th Ward lost much more than they were ever given in the chaotic aftermath. All or most of the 9th Ward community members split up due to the hurricane in which they were quickly shipped off like cattle. There was little consideration of family support, finical assistance, and even identification. Mutuality I believe is one of the community’s greatest strengths but what’s left when you can’t go outside and talk to your neighbor, or talk to your friend’s young daughter, or even locate your own brother. As earlier discussed the 9th ward individuals lost their symbolic identification of self and where they belong. I think not knowing were you belong as a person has much more negative facets than
