Of her life in France in 1926 with Ernest Walsh, expatriate editor of the important literary magazine This Quarter. They were living together in poverty; Walsh was dying of the tuberculosis to which he succumbed that October, at age thirty-one; and Boyle, still married to another man, was expecting Walsh’s baby, who was born after his death.
